with photography to create dream state semi- abstract landscape art prints.
The dramatic landscapes of Queenstown (NZ) and surrounding areas, where I am based, serve as the inspiration for my enchanting creations. I am equally inspired by the beauty in imperfection, the impermanence in nature and, most importantly, by looking at the world through my daughter's eyes.
'My abstract paintings are where my process begins, typically inspired by dramatic landscapes. I take these non- figurative paintings and digitally blend them with photography from my personal collection. This style was derived from the idea of seeing the world through my daughter's eyes; a newfound, magical lens.'
My use of texture and paint application recall the work of Gerhard Richter and Jessica Zoob's abstract paintings, coupled with the poetic quality and colour palette of Claude Monet. Although inspired, my blended technique does possess a unique style of its own.
